About 10.11 Festival
10.11 Festival refers to November 10, 1989 - the beginning of Bulgaria's democratic transition - and places the communist past in the context of how we remember and understand it today.
 

Nearly 37 years later, memory of this period remains scattered across personal stories, historical narratives, and different perspectives within society. The festival brings some of these stories together through tours in and beyond Sofia, exhibitions, theatre, film, workshops, and discussions, creating a space for dialogue between different generations and experiences.
 

Festival 10.11 is organized by the Sofia Platform Foundation and New Bulgarian University.
 

The Sofia Platform Foundation is a Bulgarian non-governmental organization working to strengthen democratic political culture through civic education and public dialogue.
 

We work on issues related to the recent past, democracy, and civic participation, creating projects and spaces for dialogue.
